Image There are no less than 6 museums in close proximity in the area of Wilshire Blvd. between Fairfax Avenue and LaBrea Avenue. The most important of these is theLos Angeles County Museum of Art, famed for its permanent collections and ever changing exhibitions.

Next door is Los Angeles' early mammal museum--mammoths, saber-toothed tigers--the George C. Page Museum , better known as the LaBrea Tar Pits. Across the street to the east is the new branch of the Southern California's Native American museum: the Southwest Museum at LACMA West . Nearby are also the diverse Petersen Automotive Museum, the Craft and Folk Art Museum, and the Korean-American Museum.
